Our basketball teams had a superb day recently at the Presentation Sports Complex, taking part in the annual Margaret Curran Cup. Now in its sixth year, this tournament is held in memory of our dear colleague and friend, Margaret Curran, who had a special love for basketball and a huge impact on our school community.

This year, we welcomed teams from Scoil Angela, Two Mile Borris, Littleton, Templemore, and Holycross. After a day of thrilling matches, Templemore emerged victorious for the first time. Presentation Pythons played superbly and secured the silver medal, while Holycross NS came third. Littleton NS clinched the Plate Final, showcasing their hard work and determination.
A special word of thanks to Martin Hehir for helping organise the event assisted by five wonderful TY students. Thanks also to John and Marie for their considered approach to refereeing, ensuring the matches were played with great spirit and fairness.

It was a proud day as Templemore accepted the Cup on behalf of a mighty bunch of players. We were delighted to have Margaret’s husband, Ger, present for this special occasion, sharing in the joy and the wonderful memories created on the court.
Here’s to another year of fantastic basketball and to the memory of Margaret, whose love for the game continues to inspire us all.
