The boys and girls from Junior Infants visited Thurles Fire Station this week and were treated to a wonderful time full of fun, information and safety tips.

Each child experienced the thrill of holding the fire hose, sitting into a fire engine and trying on some of the fire fighter uniforms. We say a sincere thanks to all the crew in Thurles Fire Station who were so kind to each child and so generous with their time.

The main reason for the visit was to teach the children some fire safety tips such as ‘Get Out and Stay Out’ if you see a fire in a building. The also learned to ‘Drop and Roll’ if your clothes ever catch fire.
