On Friday last, 35 girls took part in the Primary School Cross Country Competition in Thurles Crokes. This was a wonderful day organised by CBS Secondary School Thurles. In the bright Spring sunshine, girls from 3rd to 6th class competed in races of 800m and 1000m. This was a very competitive event with hundreds of children from all around the area taking part.
In total 5 individual medal and a team silver was a fabulous return from the teams.
It was a wonderful success to have 35 girls competing and finishing a race over a grueling course. Well done to all the children who trained over the past month in preparation for this event. There was great progress made in the girl’s ability to run over a longer distance than usual. Hopefully Thurles Crokes will gain a few new members too!!
