This week we celebrated Maths Week. The children enjoyed a different Maths challenge each day. I must say a huge thank you to our wonderful team here in the Pres who worked so hard all week to bring Maths to life in a fun and interactive way.
Pupils also enjoyed Maths Trails, Bingo and a Maths Quiz. We hope the week helped the boys and girls to see Maths in a fun and real way. Perhaps at home you can ask your child to use their Maths Eyes to see numbers, shapes, times and measure all around your home.
Here is a gallery of Maths Week 2021.
Recently the girls from Third Class finally got to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. We congratulate them on this special occasion. A big thank you to Fr. Joe and all the volunteers in the Cathedral who helped make the day so special for the girls and their families.
Each year the pupils are invited to take part in the Pentel Art Competition. Ms. Sheridan organises the competition and every year our school produces a number of winners. The Pentel prizes are just wonderful and we hope the pupils enjoy the experience and the spoils!
Nearly 40 pupils have enjoyed GAA Football training after school each Monday. It has felt like summer-time on some of the evenings as the girls develop the skills of the game from the experienced coaches! Sport is a wonderful way of keeping the body and mind healthy and everyone really enjoys the hour after school each Monday.
As part of our Wellbeing programme, every pupil was involved in planting hundreds of bulbs on our school grounds. Our Caretaker Kieran guided the pupils to plant a variety of bulbs including daffodils, tulips and Irises. They even tried ‘lasagne planting’!!
Finally, here is a collection of photos from the month of October – Enjoy and happy Halloween!
