This week our U13 football team played in the Cumann na mBunscol Blitz in Durlas Og. On a beautiful autumnal morning, the girls played Presentation Clonmel, Scoil Angela and St. Michael’s GNS Tipperary.
It was wonderful to see the girls finally take to the field after weeks of training with their coaches Paula Ralph, Karen Bohan, Laura Ralph and Ciara Fanning.
After three games the girls had recorded one win, one draw and one loss. Unfortunately this was not enough to progress to the next round of the competition, but the girls can be immensely proud of their efforts.
One of the highlights of the day was watching Anastasiia, from Ukraine, represent our school in our national game. This demonstration of bravery and willingness to try can only be admired and we are extremly proud of Anastasiia and indeed her teachers and friends who helped make today possible.
Next up is a blitz on Thursday for our U11 team. We hope that they too have a wonderful day of football and we wish them good luck!
