Recently our two Volleyball teams, Presentation Pythons and Presentation Panthers, travelled to Kilkenny to take part in the Volleyball Regional Finals. The blitz took place in the impressive venue that is The Watershed.

For the past number of weeks over 40 girls have been training after school and during lunchtime to prepare for this competition. The Watershed was a busy venue on the day with schools travelling from Churchhill, Fethard, Kilkenny City and beyond.

The Pythons won all three group games, topping the group while the Panthers won one game. Both teams progressed to the quarter finals but unfortunately were drawn to play against each other in that game.

The pythons progressed to the semi final where they met a spirited Ballyneale team. The girls played well winning on a scoreline of 21 to 14.

In the Regional Final they would play Dunamaggin NS, Killkenny. The final was extremely competitive with both teams leading at various stages of the game. The game ended 21 to 18 to Dunamaggin but there was little disappointment as both teams qualify for the National Finals which will take place in the magnificent UL Sports Arena on Friday, 7th March.
