Throughout September, our 3rd to 6th Class pupils trained together in preparation for the Tipperary Cross Country Championships. Their commitment and hard work were rewarded when 53 pupils were selected to represent our school at the event in Thurles Crokes Athletic Field.
The 3rd and 4th Class athletes tackled an 800m course, while the senior pupils from 5th and 6th Class faced the full 1000m. Competing in the Major Schools Section, each race brought together a large field of talented young athletes from schools across Tipperary — a real test of stamina, determination and perseverance.
The weather was absolutely amazing on the day, providing perfect conditions for the children to put all their training to the test. All that training paid off in style as our runners brought home 6 individual medals, along with Team Gold for our 5th & 6th Class girls.

We were delighted to see six Presentation pupils win individual medals across the various races. Special congratulations to Kate O’Riordan, Quinn Corbett, Poppy Shanahan, Emer Dorney, Fiadh Ryan and Faye Corbett on their fantastic achievements.
The boys also produced some excellent performances, with Ross Healy recording our best-ever boys’ result, finishing an impressive 13th place in the 3rd & 4th Class race. This was a fantastic achievement in a very competitive field.

We are so proud of every pupil who lined up and gave their very best. Representing your school at a county championship is a fantastic achievement in itself, and all 53 pupils showed great determination, sportsmanship and pride throughout the day.
Here is a collection of photos from the day capturing the energy, effort and excitement of the championships. A sincere thank you to the staff for all their preparation and support, and to the many parents who joined us in Thurles to cheer on our athletes. The encouragement from the sidelines made the day even more special.
Well done to all our cross country runners — you did yourselves and Presentation Primary proud!
