Volleyball All Ireland Finals

It’s a rare and magical experience, to stand shoulder to shoulder with your team-mates, and to sing the National Anthem before an All Ireland Final. It is in that very moment, as the hairs tingle the back of your neck, that you really appreciate the value of sport, of friendship, of preparation and of pride. St. Patrick’s Day Parade and more!

Following the success of last year’s, first ever, St. Partrick’s Day School Parade, the children yet again donned the green and enjoyed marching around our beautiful school grounds to mark our National Day. The parade brought joy and smiles to everyone involved and ended with an impromptu céilí in the school yard afterwards. You can watch the parade on our YouTube channel. ON the day we also took the opportunity to raise the school’s 5th Green Flag. This flag was awarded by An Taisce for the school’s work on the topic of Biodiversity. Cross Country

On Friday last, 35 girls took part in the Primary School Cross Country Competition in Thurles Crokes. This was a wonderful day organised by CBS Secondary School Thurles. In the bright Spring sunshine, girls from 3rd to 6th class competed in races of 800m and 1000m. This was a very competitive event with hundreds of children from all around the area taking part. In total 5 individual medal and a team silver was a fabulous return from the teams. It was a wonderful success to have 35 girls competing and finishing a race over a grueling course. Well done to Read more

Victorious Volleyball Team

It is over two years since Jerry Ryan last sent a bus to Presentation Primary School to take a school team to a sporting event. The loss of such days and experiences to the lives of our young people cannot be underestimated. For that reason, it was extra special that our Volleyball team travelled to Kilkenny on Thursday to compete in the Regional Finals of the Volleyball Ireland Primary School’s Tournament. There was huge interest in Volleyball over the past few weeks as over 30 pupils trained in the hall every lunchtime hoping to make one of two teams to Read more

World Book Day

This week we celebrated World Book Day. Pupils took part in a number of activities to mark the occasion. While we like to teach pupils how to read, we really enjoy helping them to foster a love of reading! Thanks to Ms. Walsh and all the staff for organising so many activities throughout the week.

Aistear, Camogie and AfterSchools

It has been a busy few weeks in the Pres recently. We are slowly emerging from the restrictions of the past 18 months. Thankfully pupils are now back enjoying all our After School Activities including Cookery, Camogie, STEM, Speech & Drama, Homework Club, Chess Club and Tin Whistle Club. We have also upgraded our soft play area and the children are really enjoying exploring the area and challenging themselves to be adventurous. Here are some of the highlights with dozens of photos in the gallery also.
