The pupils from third to sixth class enjoyed a Spikeball Blitz organised by the Transition Year Students from Presentation Secondary School today. The girls were treated to a fun-for-all blitz to mark the end of six week of coaching. Prizes were presented to overall winning tea, to the most improved player and to the most cooperative player. Well done to all involved.
Today Ms Walsh and Ms Drohan and the girls from Rang 3 and 4 put on their coats and hats and had a lovely walk to Bookworm. We were warmly welcomed by Johhny Butler. We had a lovely time choosing our books and we all came back to school happy with our purchases. Happy reading girls and remember the words of Dr Seuss “You can find magic wherever you look. The boys and girls in Ms. Gleeson’s First Class were busy this week planting potatoes, strawberries, carrots, lettuce, turnips and spinach as part of the Incredible Edibles programme. Through this programme the pupils learn about how plants grow and what is needed to ensure our crops survive. We look forward to harvest time!!
Today at Assembly the pupils celebrated World Book Day by sharing their favourite books with the school. Well done to the brave pupils who stood up and presented their book reviews. We look forward to visiting Bookworm next week to cash in our book vouchers!
Spikeball is a relatively new sport and today, Thursday, 7th March, two teams from Presentation Primary School travelled to the impressive University of Limerick Sports Arena for the Spikeball Regional Finals. Spikeball is a simpler version of volleyball which allows players catch the ball as part of each play. Teams of four learn the skills of the ‘dig, set and spike’ just like volleyball. A wonderful night was had by all who attended Thurles Drama Group’s production of Alice’s Adventures in the New World. Lorna Healy was superb in the lead role of Alice and the all female cast really entertained the large crowd there. Thurles Drama Group will present Alice’s Adventures in the New World in The Source Arts Centre on Monday 18th February. This is a modern, adult drama which promises to entertain you.
