The recent snow provided a welcome distraction from the classroom as the children got the chance to throw some snowballs and enjoy the novelty of a white playground.
Well done to these third class girls who were awarded their Pen Licences recently. This means that they are now qualified to use a pen when writing. The whole school is now using cursive writing and these girls are setting the standard with their beautiful handwriting.
Ms. Ryan’s class had great fun deciding whether items would float or sink in class today. They used their scientific minds to predict and investigate what items sink and which float. An orange proved to be very interesting with the skin floating but the segments sinking!
Well done to our U11 and U13 quiz teams who represented our school in the Credit Union School Quiz recently. The girls worked really hard to prepare for the quiz and did us proud on the night with a fine performance. Thanks to Ms. Walsh for preparing the teams.
A wonderful day was had by all as Grandparents from near and far gathered in our school hall on Friday for Grandparents Day 2020, the highlight of Catholic Schools Week. After a short prayer service, past pupil and Grandparent to Emily Rose, Cáit Power reflected on her memories in primary school. Our school choir ended the gathering with an angelic version of The World in Union.
Senior Infants have had a very busy and creative few days this week. Ms. Sheridan and her pupils enjoyed learning some Irish Dancing in the hall as part of PE. Back in the classroom the task was construction. The pupils used recycled materials to build robots, houses and castles. Great to see our pupils learning with smiles!
