Fitmas 2019

As part of our Active School Flag programme and in the spirit of Christmas, we are delighted to do Fitmas this year. Fitmas is a fun and simple way to teach the children some exercises and to help them be active each day. Each day for the next 12 days – The 12 Days of Christmas – we will introduce a new exercise which the children will do in school 2 or 3 times a day. We hope that you will join in the fun and encourage the children to do these activities at home too! At the end we Read more

Attendance Month

This month we took part in the TUSLA Attendance initiative Every School Day Counts. We were delighted today to give a small treat to the 134 pupils who had full attendance for the month of November. And despite the usual winter bug we still managed an attendance rate of 95%. Well done to everyone who managed to be in school each day.

Aistear – Home

Our Junior Infant pupils continue to enjoy Aistear (in the ‘Playroom’ as they now call it!) This term the children are learning all about Home. Christmas Shoe Box Appeal

Thank you to everyone who supported the Team Hope Christmas Shoe Box Appeal 2019. As you can see from the photograph, we had an amazing response with 196 shoe boxes being donated to this worthy cause. The Team Hope Appeal is a particularly nice charity to support as the children get to see first hand how they can help poorer children in a practical, simple way.

Halloween Fun

It was simply amazing to see the efforts of the pupils (and Staff!) who came to school this morning dressed up in their Halloween Costumes. The school was a blaze of colour, face-paint, masks and blood stained clothing. The creativity and cleverness on display was spell-binding! Thanks to all the pupils and parents who went to such lengths to dress up. Each pupil was given a Halloween gift which was very kindly donated to the school. Some pupils also won prizes in the raffle. In all today was very entertaining and huge thanks must be given to our Parents’ Council Read more

Star Pupils October

This month we focused on Homework for our Star Pupil Awards. Pupils were encouraged to make a special effort to improve their homework. Mr. Healy had done an assembly which gave the children tips on how to make homework easier and more beneficial. Well done to everyone who made such an effort and congratulations to this months winners.
