FAI Schools Soccer 2025

Our soccer teams took to the field this week in the FAI 5-a-side School’s Soccer Tournament in Ballymackey. The girls have been training with Mr. O’Gorman and Mr. Dunne for the past few weeks and were really looking forward to the tournament. We had two teams playing on the day and they enjoyed games against Scoil Eoin, Carrig NS, Borrisoleigh and Gaelscoil Nenagh. Both teams played some wonderful soccer and improved as the day progressed. Unfortunately neither team made the final, narrowly missing out on goal difference on one side of the draw. U11 Football Round-Up

Our first day out saw our U11B team head to Borrisoleigh where they played Templemore and Holycross. The girls played four entertaining matches, winning two drawing one and losing one. This was enough to earn a place in the blitz final against Templemore. Despite some heroic play, the girls were narrowly beaten. However, this team was made up predominantly with girls from 4th Class, most of whom will be U11 again next year. This bodes well for the future Read more

STEM Week

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths has fast become one of the most important subject we teach in our schools nationally. Last week we celebrated STEM Week where the children got to experience some STEM activities in a fun and meaningful way. On Monday, each class used their mathematical abilities to estimate how many conkers or money was in a jar. There were some great guesses and plenty of winners from each class. On Tuesday classes went around our school grounds on a STEM trail. These treasure hunts are great to encourage children to look at STEM all around us. Wednesday Read more

Halloween Fun

Music greeted witches, skeletons and ghosts on Friday morning to mark the end of the first half of the school term and the start of the Halloween holidays. The children looked amazing in their costumes and one could only admire their creativity and willingness to be part of the fun. A great day was had by all the boys and girls. Thanks to all the parents who encouraged the children to dress up and shared in the fun at the gate on the morning. Here are some images from the day.
