Presentation Primary School

Junior Infants have settled very well into life in Presentation Primary. Their first month has been one filled with exploration and excitement. The children have made new friends and reconnected with some old ones. Their teachers Ms. Healy and Ms. Mockler made the transition to primary school easy and fun-filled. Our After School Clubs returned this week. The boys and girls have the opportunity to enjoy clubs on different days. There’s Sports, Monday Funday Club, Arts and Music, Cookery, Chess and Minecraft to choose from.

Our Basketball teams had a superb day in the Presentation Sports Complex recently last as they took part in the annual Margaret Curran Cup. This tournament is now in its fifth year and last year was the first year Presentation primary won the trophy. Margaret Curran was a very dear colleague and friend to us here in the Pres. The children from 3rd to 6th class enjoyed an action packed school tour to Mitchelstown Caves and Airtastic recently. Thank you to all the staff who organised the day and helped ensure each child had a safe and happy day out with their friends.

Senior Infants enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Castleview Farm in Cullohill recently. The highlights included go-karting, crazy golf and getting up close to pet and feed the animals. Our U11 Camogie team took part in the Cumann na mBunscol Camogie Blitz in Holycross recently. This was the first time our new sports jerseys were worn and these girls certainly wore them with pride. Mr. O’Gorman and Ms. Bohan had been training the camogie teams for the past number of weeks and the level of skill on show was testament to the great efforts of their coaches. Junior NBA is an iniatitive run by Basketball Ireland and part-funded by the NBA. Thanks to Tipperary Knights, our school sent 15 girls to the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght to take part in a day of skills training and matches against schools from all over Ireland.
