Semi Final Showdown!

Two goals down with two minutes to go is not where you want to find yourself in a county semi final! And moments later, as a close range free narrowly flew wide of the post, few would have believed that Presentation Primary would eventually grind out a famous win against a fine Holycross team! The game began in treacherous conditions. Driving rain and single figure temperatures made the ground slippy and the ball even slippier! Holycross got off to a flying start and found the net twice in the opening minutes to really set out their stall and put early Read more

Halloween Fun

Something peculiar happened this morning in the Presentation Primary School when hundreds of monsters turned up for school instead of our usual staff and children. Skeletons, zombies, witches, Batman, Spiderman and even Michael D. Higgins roamed the corridors, classrooms and playground of our school. It was a fun filled day from start to finish with spider racing in the morning and mummy wrapping in the afternoon. The children in 5th and 6th class held a Halloween Fun Fair which included spooky treasure, fortune telling, pin the face on the pumpkin and much more. If the laughter from the Halla was Read more

U11 Football Blitz Winners

It was a fabulous Friday for our wonderful U11 Football team who won their Cumann na mBunscol blitz last week. The team played brilliantly throughout the day to qualify for a county semi final. The day began with a game against our Presentation counterparts from Clonmel. This was a tight affair with the two teams defending superbly from start to finish. Early points from Lily O’Dowd and Emma Egan helped the girls to a 0.2 to 0.1 lead at half time. The second started with a bang as Ava Fitzgibbon found the back of the net to put the Thurles Read more

STEM Week 2023

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths has fast become one of the most important subject we teach in our schools nationally. Last week we celebrated STEM Week where the children got to experience some STEM activities in a fun and meaningful way. On Monday, each class used their mathematical abilities to estimate how many conkers or money was in a jar. There were some great guesses and plenty of winners from each class. On Tuesday each class went around our school grounds on a STEM trail. These treasure hunts are great to encourage children to look at STEM all around us. Read more

U13 Football Blitz

This week our U13 football team played in the Cumann na mBunscol Blitz in Dúrlas Óg. On a beautiful autumnal morning, the girls played Scoil Angela Thurles and St. Mary’s GNS Nenagh. It was wonderful to see the girls finally take to the field after weeks of training with their coaches. After two games the girls had recorded one win and one loss. Unfortunately this was not enough to progress to the next round of the competition, but the girls can be immensely proud of their efforts. Next up is a blitz on Friday, 20th October for our U11 team. Autumn in the Pres

The children have been taking advantage of the pleasant autumnal weather over the past week to explore our beautiful school grounds in search of signs of Autumn. Some classes have completed Autumn Trails to find leaves, acorns, conkers and other signs of Autumn.

Cross Country

All through the month of September, the girls from 3rd to 6th class have been running together in preparation for the Tipperary Cross Country Championship. This year 53 girls were selected to represent the school at the event in Thurles Crokes Athletic Field. The girls from 3rd and 4th class had to complete a 800m course, while the senior classes ran a full kilometer (1000m). Our school competed in the Major and Large schools section which saw up to 100 children run in each race. All that training and preparation definitely paid off as we scopped 4 individual medals and Read more
